Your hosts and the reunion committee are excited about plans for the 2024 Barber Family Reunion and returning to our roots in Hopkins, SC. We are again honoring Hopkins, SC where the historic Harriet Barber House is located. Back by popular demand, we will offer another tour of historic sites in the Lower Richland area where Sam and Harriet Barber began their journey after gaining their freedom and becoming pillars of the community in Hopkins. There they planted the seeds of prosperity on their farm with 42.5 acres in 1872. We hope that you will make your commitment to join the celebration at the 20th Barber Family Reunion and honor the family legacy that will be carried on for generations to come.<\/p>\n

Here are some important reminders as you make your plans for July 2024:<\/p>\n

  1. Accommodations<\/strong>: We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Columbia Center <\/span>in the VISTA! The room rate of $149<\/strong> + tax + 2% destination marketing fee includes free Wi-FI, on-site restaurant, outdoor pool, and fitness center.\u00a0 Parking is an additional $18 per day.\u00a0 Your reservations should be made by Individual Call @ +1 803-744-7800<\/span> or using the reservation link at the bottom of this page.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Registration fees<\/strong>: The reunion planning committee has made a commitment to offer everyone the opportunity to attend all of the activities we have planned. We have tried our best to keep the costs reasonable. Please contact us immediately if you have any questions. We need all of the fees paid by June 1st. You are welcome to send a deposit now and pay the balance by the deadline date! We just need to see you here!!<\/li>\n
  3. Reunion attire:<\/strong> The activities are mostly casual and comfortable. You will want to dress appropriately for the Sunday worship service at St. John Baptist Church in Hopkins. Dressy casual is welcomed there at the church.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    4. Fundraiser:<\/strong> To keep the reunion cost reasonable, we plan to hold a raffle from February to April. Proceeds will help to cover the bus tour and other reunion expenses as well as support of the Harriet Barber House!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      We will have updates posted on our reunion website. Our webmaster, Kendrick Adams, will keep you informed about details you will need to know before you arrive for the reunion. Carlos will keep you pumped up on Facebook and other social media!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
